UW IN THE SUMMER
The UW and Seattle

Summer Quarter at the University of Washington makes it easy for you to take your ideal class. By combining expertise, experience and enjoyment, UW Summer Quarter helps you make the most of your summer. Classes are held during a full nine-week term or one of two four-and-a-half week terms (a and b terms), and they're often conveniently scheduled, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful Northwest and have time to work or play.

Just a few reasons we think the UW is where you'll want to be this summer:

  • No enrollment limit. During the summer, the UW is open to anyone who is capable of college-level study, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Classes you want to take. With nearly 2,000 classes to choose from, you're sure to find your dream class.
  • Personal attention. With an average of 27 students per class, you'll be able to connect with your professor and fellow classmates.
  • Classes to fit your schedule. Classes are held during a full nine-week term or one of two four-and-a-half-week terms (a and b terms), and they're often scheduled at times that allow you to make the most of your summer.
  • Summer sunshine. The UW campus is situated in the heart of Seattle and gives you easy access to all the Puget Sound region has to offer. Contrary to popular belief, summers in Seattle are warm—not hot or humid—and days are typically sunny with little or no rain.
