Program Overview
Systems analysis is the process of assessing business needs, reviewing organizational structures, gathering system requirements and translating the needs of a business or organization into a viable IT system.
This certificate program focuses on the needs of organizations, then develops
standards and requirements around those needs to translate them into an effective IT solution. Although systems analysis is generally an IT topic, program participants will also gain an understanding of the big picture by viewing the processes holistically from inception to project completion.
The subject matter includes, but is not limited to, organizational knowledge management, the performance of contextualized inquiries and gathering of business requirements. Students will also look at organizational, systems and UML diagramming, methodologies of interfacing effectively with end users, and the software development life cycle. This certificate program is project-driven, giving students the experience of working on a longer systems analysis project. Microsoft Project is provided at no charge.
