Increase the creative, conceptual, and expressive aspects of your work in any medium of fiber arts. Develop an extensive visual vocabulary making use of such elements as design, color, mixed media, and collage. Experiment with incorporating elements of autobiography, history, and culture into your work. Participate in a rich and supportive critiquing process.

What the Program Covers

  • Your art and how to bring yourself into it
  • Conceptual strategies to identify an idea, emotion, or experience through fiber
  • Examples from the history of art and craft for inspiration, experimentation, and discussion
  • Professional art practices and preparation for an art exhibit

Benefits

Your work will be displayed in a public venue and you will graduate with a body of work in fiber that demonstrates your talent and recognizable artistic voice.

Who Should Apply

Level: Some Experience

  • Individuals with experience in fiber art who wish to increase their skills and visual vocabulary
  • Individuals who work in any fiber medium, including weaving, quilting, fashion, textile design, needlework, and mixed media
