Learn about the smart decisions that can help you protect and enhance your single biggest investment-your house. Explore the elements of the architectural process that entail buying a house or building one, planning a major remodel, or looking for the perfect lot. Study function, aesthetics, sustainability, safety, and design so you can make prudent, well-informed choices. Build your awareness of how basic systems in a house work, when and where maintenance money is best spent, and why good design makes a big difference.
What the Program Covers
- The history of Northwest residential architecture
- House styles, sizes, and costs
- Step-by-step overview of the whole process - from initial space planning through design, permitting, and construction

- The choice of materials and finishes for the interior and exterior
Benefits
You will gain the skills and knowledge you need to make informed decisions and avoid costly or time-consuming mistakes in planning or maintaining your own house project.
